Celebrating Fourth of July in Your Backyard

Celebrating Fourth of July in Your Backyard

Spread the love

It is that time of the year again, when any respectable American celebrates the Fourth of July, which symbolizes the independence from the Great Britain, declared 242 years ago.

On July 4, most Americans go out in the street and enjoy the public celebrations organized all over the country, with parades, fireworks, games, live music and so much more. However, some people rather prefer to celebrate at home, with friends or family. Most of the time, they organize a barbecue in their yard, with delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, pork sausages, steaks and chips.

For backyard celebrations, prepare your yard a couple of days in advance. Mow the grass, and definitely give the lawn a good soaking even if you have drought tolerant grass planted. Having your yard prepped ahead of time will allow you to focus on the celebration itself for that day.

But besides these goodies, you can treat your guests with some amazing cocktails and deserts. Here are some patriotic ideas.

Cocktails (don`t forget to serve them with red, white and blue straws and deal with the fact that there is no way to escape clichés anyway!)

•The Firecracker Cocktail

You need limes, watermelon, cucumber-infused vodka and ice to create this delightful beverage.

•Blueberry Strawberry Mojito

Your guests will surely drink every drop of this amazing fruity cocktail, so be prepared with more!

•Red, White and Blue Pina Colada

You can make this cocktail festive by adding layers of blue curacao and strawberry.

Desert

• Patriotic Panna Cotta – This yummy Italian desert is easy to prepare and you can serve it with layers of red syrup and blue curacao;

•Red-white blue icecream;

•All-American cherry or berry pie, decorated to look like the national flag.
